Developing Local Systems To Support Revalidation
The UK Revalidation Programme Board (UKRPB) has reviewed the strategy and timetable for developing local systems to support the introduction of revalidation for doctors. The Board expects that these systems will be in place in some parts of the country by 2011. The GMC is committed to a phased approach to introducing revalidation from 2011. This will mean starting where the systems needed to support revalidation are ready and fit for purpose.

South London Healthcare Trust Announces Partnership With NHS Institute For Innovation And Improvement In Its Drive For Clinical Excellence

South London Healthcare NHS Trust (SLHT) is delighted to announce a new partnership with the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement as part of the trust"s drive for clinical excellence. The NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement supports the NHS in transforming healthcare for patients by rapidly developing and spreading new ways to increase productivity, improve quality of care and the patient experience. The NHS Institute will support SLHT by providing a range of products that best respond to the trust"s priorities over the coming year. Products from the NHS Institute include the Productive Ward, which is well known across the health sector for its ability to transform patient care by freeing up frontline staff to spend more time with patients and more time improving standards of care. Speaking at the Implementing High Quality Care in South London launch event where the announcement was made, Lisa Godfrey, Transitional Director of Service Development at SHLT said: "This is a unique opportunity for the trust and there is so much energy amongst the staff at the moment. During the next few months we have a number of significant projects that the trust will be working on in partnership with the NHS Institute and we will be focusing a great deal on local leadership." David Law, Relationship Manager at the NHS Institute said: "There are huge prospects for South London Healthcare NHS Trust. The trust has the advantage of scale and genuine focus on patient experience and the quality of care. We look forward to providing the trust with tactical support and training while focusing on the quality of service."
